the cosmoscopic key

8m x 6m x 4m
Suspended optical glass elements interface a cone of light, increasing in scale as they cascade away from the light source. Small geometric prisms close to the light source morph into large (CMYK) coloured planar lenses towards the back of the cone; a telescopic diagram that opens as spatio-temporal projections from the deconstructed elements constitutive of projected image-reality. As each geometric element can turn on its axis, spectral colours and luminous resonances orbit around the space, creating an immersive environment; a kind of cosmo-scope with refractions and spectralisations ‘keyed’ against the darkness to generate a cosmos of crystalline spectrality.

Suspended geometric elements interfacing a cone of light transition from Euclidean elements into an expanded suspended form, which draws out the geometric relationship into non-Euclidean elliptical space. Opening into spatio-temporal projections of coloured refraction and spectral colours that orbit around the space, the work describes the movement from Euclidean space into non-Euclidean cosmology, deconstructing the apparatus of the telescope and cinematic projection to offer an opening for new interpretation in constructed space. The resulting shadows and refractions balance in the final projection, suggesting an interlocking harmonic ratio.
