Ornament of Solar Lights is a large-scale light-mobile consisting of a series of cascading hand-blown colored glass lenses that describe a spheroid form. The form represents a solar symbology, and the colors are derived through spectrographic imaging of the sun, which reveals the full spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. The planar lenses intersect and mediate natural and ambient light as well as precisely positioned LEDs that project cones of light out from within the form, such that the artwork radiates spectral compositions of color like solar flares, generating an environment saturated in atmospheric solar energy.
